Daniel Susac Earns Unanimous All-America Distinction

Jun 27, 2022

TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona Baseball's Daniel Susac has once again earned the honor of being recognized as a unanimous All-American after being selected to the Second Team by Baseball America and the Third Team by D1Baseball.

This marks back-to-back unanimous All-America campaigns for the Wildcats standout catcher, who is expected to be selected early in next month's Major League Baseball Draft. Susac is the 13th player in Arizona history to log multiple All-America seasons.

The sophomore campaign put together by Susac in 2022 was one of the most successful seasons in program history. The Roseville, California native posted just the 10th 100-hit season in Arizona history on the way to registering an astounding .366 batting average. Susac also picked up 50 runs scored, 19 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs, and 61 RBI to go with a .582 slugging percentage and .429 on-base percentage.

Susac's hits came in bunches, with the standout sophomore logging 33 multi-hit performances, the fourth best single-season mark in program history — he finished the year with more multi-hit games than games with zero or one hit.

As Arizona's everyday starting catcher he was an essential piece of the team's defensive effort as well, turning in a .987 fielding percentage on 452 chances while throwing out nine attempted base stealers.

Through today's announcements, Susac's current haul of postseason honors includes:
