World Championship on Deck
TOWSON, Md. - Five Cardinal lacrosse players will compete at the World Championship in Maryland this summer. Alex Tsai will suit up for Team Hong Kong, Dani Jacobstein and Megan Lerner will represent Team Israel, Lyndsey Munoz will compete for Team Spain, and Anna Kim will play for Team Korea Republic.
Tsai recently finished her Stanford career, earning her master's degree in Management Science & Engineering. Jacobstein completed her junior year on The Farm in 2022 and scored her first two career goals during the season. The pair have both won two Pac-12 Championships while playing for the Cardinal.
Lerner, Munoz, and Kim all competed for Stanford from 2011-14, winning an MPSF Title in 2011 and earning three NCAA tournament berths during their careers.
The 2022 Women's World Championship will be hosted by Towson University in Maryland over the next 10 days. The competition begins on June 29 and wraps up on July 9.
The first match of the event will feature the United States and Canada facing off on June 29 at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
This is the first World Championship played in the United States since 2005. The US has won the past three World Championships played in 2009, 2013 and 2017.
