UCLA's Ellen Ulitsky to Compete at Under 23 Championships
Rising senior Ellen Ulitsky of the UCLA women's rowing program has been named to the USRowing Under 23 National Team this summer, as announced Monday by USRowing.
Ulitsky, a 5-foot-8 port rower from Sunnyvale, Calif., primarily rowed in the Bruins' varsity eight crew during the 2021-22 spring season. Ulitsky was among several college student-athletes who were invited to the USRowing women's sculling selection camp at the Oklahoma City High Performance Center (Oklahoma City, Okla.).
Ulitsky will compete in the women's quadruple sculls at the 2022 World Rowing Under 23 Championships in Varese, Italy, from July 25-30.
A three-year varsity letterwinner in the Bruins' rowing program, Ulitsky rowed in the second varsity eight crew (2V8+) as a sophomore in 2020-21. She has twice earned CRCA Scholar-Athlete honors (spring of 2021, spring of 2022) and was named to the Pac-12 Spring Academic Honors Roll in 2021.
The World Rowing Under 23 Championships serves as a premier event for rowers under the age of 23 and offers a total of 22 events.
Ulitsky was among multiple athletes who were selected to represent the United States in the six camp-selected boats – the men's quadruple, women's quadruple sculls, men's four with coxswain, women's four with coxswain, men's eight, and women's eight.
