Cal Unveils Home-And-Home Series With Kansas State, Butler
BERKELEY – The California men's basketball program announced it has agreed to home-and-home series with Kansas State and Butler, with the first matchups against both opponents to be played at Haas Pavilion during the upcoming 2022-23 season. The Golden Bears will host the Wildcats on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, and the Bulldogs on Dec. 10.
Return games will be played at Butler's Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Dec. 9, 2023 and Kansas State's Bramlage Coliseum in Manhattan, Kansas on a date to be determined in the 2024-25 season.
Cal is 1-6 all-time against Kansas State, having last faced the Wildcats in 2007 in Manhattan. The Bears earned their lone win against the Wildcats on Nov. 29, 2006 in Berkeley with a thorough 78-48 victory. The head-to-head series between the two programs dates back to 1951. Cal head coach Mark Fox, a native of Garden City, Kansas, was an assistant coach at Kansas State from 1994-2000.
The Dec. 10 contest in Berkeley will be the first between Cal and Butler.

Early Pac-12 Conference tilts with USC (Nov. 30 in Berkeley) and Arizona (Dec. 4 in Tucson) as well as Emerald Coast Classic matchups with Southern (Nov. 18 in Berkeley), TCU and Clemson or Iowa (Nov. 25-26 in Niceville, Fla.), have already been unveiled. Further updates to Cal's 2022-23 non-conference schedule are expected to be announced in the near future.
