Chase Griffin (11)

NORTHBROOK, Ill. – UCLA quarterback Chase Griffin was announced on Wednesday by Allstate and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) as a nominee for the 2022 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team®. The nominees were selected after displaying exemplary community service, academic dedication and impact on and off the field.

"For 31 years, the Good Works Team has recognized the inspirational work of thousands of young men off the football field," said Troy Hawkes, executive vice president and general manager, Allstate Sales and Distribution. "Allstate and AFCA celebrate these athletes as an example for how each of us can be true champions. Their selflessness makes the sport and communities across the country that much better."

"While these players are tremendous athletes on the field, they are even better people off of it. They realize that giving back is one of the most important things you can do in your life, and I am inspired by how they have used their opportunities to make life better for those around them," said Tim Tebow, two-time national champion, Heisman Trophy winner and 2009 Allstate AFCA Good Works Team member. "The impact they make will go well beyond their football careers. These men represent the true heart of our sport."

Griffin, who earned his undergraduate degree at UCLA in public affairs and is currently enrolled in graduate school, has been named to the Athletic Director's Academic Honor Roll from 2019-2021. He was named the NIL Male Athlete of the Year at the recently held 2022 NIL Summit. Griffin was selected to the 2020-21 Pac-12 Fall Academic Honor Roll. He was the winner of the Chancellor's Leadership Award in 2020-21. In 2020, he was named an Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar and the winner of the Academic & Student Services Success Award. Griffin was also presented the 2020-21 Athletic Director's Academic Excellence Award. His numerous community service endeavors include experiences with the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, the Boost Mobile Holiday event, LA After School All-Stars, Be the Match Marrow Donor Registry and the LA Unified Schools. On the field, Griffin has completed 40 of his 62 career passing attempts (.645) for 451 yards and six touchdowns. His experience includes starting assignments in 2020 games at Oregon and against Arizona.
