STANFORD, Calif. – Joining the men's basketball program after a decorated college career and five successful professional seasons in Europe, Nate Britt has been named Director of Player Development.

"We are very excited to add Nate to our coaching staff," said Jerod Haase, the Anne and Tony Joseph Director of Men's Basketball. "He was extremely successful as both a high-level collegiate and professional player, and he will provide great value to the program as a whole."

A four-year player for Roy Williams at North Carolina, Britt reached back-to-back NCAA Championship games with the Tar Heels, including a win in the national championship game in 2017. Britt holds the program record for conference wins by a player (59) and ranks in the top five for career wins (fourth, 116) and career games played (second, 151). He earned the program's Marvin Williams Carolina Way and George Lynch Best Defensive Player awards for the 2016-17 campaign.

Following his standout collegiate tenure, Britt spent five seasons playing professionally in five different countries, leading each team to playoff appearances and averaging north of 10 points per game in four of the five stints. The guard started his career with the Glasgow Rocks (England) in 2017-18, continued with Boca Juniors (Argentina) in 2018-19, moved to Omonia Nicosia (Cyprus) in 2019-20, where he averaged a career-best 14.5 points per game, and ended with stays with Wiha Panthers Schwenningen (Germany) in 2020-21 and Yoast United (Netherlands) in 2021-22.

Britt graduated from North Carolina in 2017 with a degree in management and society.
