Arizona Freshman Dorsey Named High School Scholar Player of the Year
TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona freshman Trinity Dorsey (Elk Ridge, Md.) was named the 2021-22 High School National Scholar Player of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches. She was selected out of 72 girls that had at least a 3.75 GPA and outstanding performance on the field.
"First, I want to thank the United Soccer Coaches for this award," Dorsey said. "But a lot of the credit goes to my family and friends for their constant love and support throughout my high school career and to my teammates and coaches for the environment we were able to create in school and on the field. We pushed each other to always be at our best and were able to accomplish so much."
As a senior at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Maryland, Dorsey was named the Maryland Player of the Year by the United Soccer Coaches and garnered WCAC All-Conference First Team and Maryland Association of Coaches of Soccer First Team honors. She won two conference championships during her interscholastic career (2018, 2019) and helped OLGC to a runner-up finish in 2021.
Dorsey is one of 11 newcomers for Arizona's second year head coach Becca Moros, who begin official practice for the 2022 season in early August before opening the season at home against Iowa State on Aug. 18. Season tickets as well as single-game tickets and flex packs are now on sale at ArizonaWildcats.com.
