Aztecs Earn United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The San Diego State men's soccer program received the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for their exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2021-22 academic year.

To receive the award, a program must have a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, for the 2021-22 academic year. The Aztecs finished the year with a team GPA of 3.05.

Last spring, six Aztecs were named to the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll after having a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher: Tetsuya Kadono (Business Administration, 3.39) Jordan Korbus (Business Administration, 3.94), Elliot Pavis (Business Administration, 3.52), Kevin Peraza (Construction Management, 3.52), Laukoa Santos (Business Administration, 3.34) and Iñigo Villaldea (Kinesiology, 3.85).

The Aztecs, who tout the No. 1 recruiting class in the country and were ranked as high as No. 13 last year, open the year with a friendly at UC Irvine Aug. 14 before officially kicking off the season Aug. 25 at CSUN.
