Women’s Basketball Alum Shines In Mexico

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah women's basketball alum Emily Potter has won the LNBP Mexican Professional Women's Basketball League as a member of the Astros de Jalisco Femenil. 
 
The Ute alum signed with Astros de Jalisco Femenil, which is part of the Sisnova LNBP Mexican Professional Women's Basketball League. She signed a playoff contract with the Astros. She returned to Winnipeg for a short period after returning from her professional opportunity in Greece. 

 
On the way to claiming the championship, Potter played seven games for the Astros de Jalisco Femenil. She averaged 27.7 minutes, 9.7 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game. She scored 13 points against Adelitas in a 68-62 victory. She scored in double figures in four of the seven games. In the finals against Adelitas, Potter had eight points and an eight-rebound performance in game two. 
 
Potter remains part of the training squads with the Canadian Senior Women's National Team program and is looking to host a local youth basketball camp in Winnipeg later this summer upon her return.
