Kirkland Adds Rotary Lombardi Watch LIst To Preseason Honors

Aug 2, 2022

Washington's Jaxson Kirkland has been named to the preseason watch list for the Rotary Lombardi Award, the Lombardi Award committee announced this week.
Kirkland, an offensive tackle from Portland, Ore., will return for his sixth season on the Husky roster in 2022, having started nearly every game of the last four seasons after redshirting in 2017. He earned first-team All-Pac-12 in both 2020 and 2021 and was also named to the preseason watch list for the Outland Trophy in both 2021 and again this summer.
The son of former Husky offensive lineman Dean Kirkland, Jaxson has started 39 out of a possible 43 games over the last four years and is a two-time winner of the program's John P. Angel Lineman of the Year Award.
The Rotary Lombardi Award goes annually to the college football offensive or defensive lineman, who in addition to outstanding performance and ability, best exemplifies the character and discipline of NFL Hall of Fame Head Coach Vince Lombardi.
