Nuneviller, Pukis Garner Preseason Honors

EUGENE, Ore. – In advance of the upcoming 2022 season, Brooke Nuneviller and Hannah Pukis have been named to the Preseason All-Pac-12 Team as announced Monday by the league office. Oregon opens its season Aug. 27-28 at the Rose City Showdown in Portland.
 
Additionally, the Ducks received one first-place vote and check in fourth in the Pac-12 preseason poll. Both the preseason team and rankings were voted on by the league's head coaches.
 
Nuneviller is coming off a standout fall campaign in which she earned a spot on the AVCA All-America Second Team for a second-consecutive season. She is the reigning AVCA Pacific North Region Player of the Year having averaged a career-high 3.96 kills per set to go along with 3.19 digs per set. Nuneviller recorded double-digit kills in 23 of 29 matches last year including a season-high 31 kills at Rice (Sept. 2).
 
The Chandler, Ariz., native enters the year having reached 1,000 career kills (1,025), 1,600 career digs (1,649) and 100 career aces (101) during the Ducks' 2021 season. Nuneviller tallied a team-leading 17 double-doubles last season with 13 against Pac-12 opponents.
 
Pukis, a transfer from Washington State, is a two-time AVCA Pacific North All-Region performer and was an AVCA All-America Honorable Mention selection following the 2021 spring season. During this past fall season, she was fifth in the Pac-12 with 10.30 assists per set and added 2.55 digs per set, and registered 13 double-doubles.
 
The Tacoma, Wash., native is a two-time All-Pac-12 pick and helped WSU to the NCAA Tournament in each of the past three seasons. Pukis had 33 assists, eight digs and seven kills in a first-round win over Northern Colorado last season.
