Aug 8, 2022

TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona Football punter Kyle Ostendorp earned First-Team Pro Football Network Honors and wide receiver Jacob Cowing earned Honorable Mention as announced by the organization today.

The Wildcats landed two players on the 2022 Pro Football Network (PFN) College Football All-American team with Ostendorp and Cowing earning another preseason nod. The college football and NFL draft analysis at PFN all got together to narrow the list of thousands of athletes to three teams on offense, three on defense, and deserving honorable mentions.

Ostendorp continues to stand out on the national stage with another preseason honor after earning Pac-12 First-Team, Ray Guy Watch List, and preseason Sporting News Second-Team All-American. He was fourth in the nation in average punt distance (49.2), leading the Pac-12 in that category during the 2021 season. Ostendorp kicked a long of 71 yards against San Diego State on Sept. 11 and punted for 2,852 total yards on his way to 2021 All-Pac-12 First-Team recognition.

Cowing earned PFN Honorable Mention after leading UTEP in receiving yards all three seasons, including a 2021 campaign when he finished with 69 receptions for 1,354 yards and seven touchdowns. Cowing was named First Team All-Conference USA honors in 2021 and Second Team recognition in 2020.

He pulls in another preseason accolade after being named to the Maxwell Award Watch List, Biletnikoff Award Watch List, East-West Shrine Bowl Award Watch List, and Second-Team All-Pac-12.

Arizona opens the 2022 season on Sept. 3 at San Diego State. The home opener falls on Sept. 10 against Mississippi State with kickoff at Arizona Stadium set for 8 p.m.
