Ten Red Rocks Named WCGA Scholastic All-Americans

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Ten University of Utah gymnasts earned WCGA Scholastic All-America honors for their achievements in the classroom during the 2021-22 academic year, announced Wednesday morning by the Women's Collegiate Gymnastics Association.

Including the 2022 Utah gymnastics squad, there were 53 teams in the nation with a team grade point average of a 3.50 or better. Utah combined for a team GPA of 3.57 during the 2021-22 academic year, while the 10 Red Rocks earning academic honors were a part of the record 1,077 gymnasts with a 3.5 or better GPA. WCGA Scholastic All-America Award winners are gymnasts who have earned a 3.5 overall grade point average or a 3.5 grade point average for 2021-22.

Recent Red Rocks graduate Sydney Soloski earned her fourth-straight honor as a WCGA Scholastic All-American, while rising senior Abby Paulson collected her third consecutive award. Being recognized for the second time of their careers were Alexia Burch, Jaylene Gilstrap, Jillian Hoffman, Maile O'Keefe, and Alani Sabado. Joining the Utes for the first time on the WCGA Scholastic All-America team was Amelie Morgan, Lucy Stanhope, and Sage Thompson.

Utah Gymnastics also had 10 gymnasts named to the Pac-12 Winter Academic Honor Roll this past April, while the team continued the program's streak of 54 consecutive semesters of a team GPA of a 3.0 or higher following the spring semester. Additionally, Utah Gymnastics had a perfect NCAA Graduation Success Rate (GSR) score this past fall to continue the streak of perfect scores all 17 years since the GSR was introduced.
