Utah Soccer Returns to the Pitch

SALT LAKE CITY – Under the direction of second-year head coach Hideki Nakada, the Utah women's soccer program returned to the pitch on Wednesday night as they hosted Idaho State in an exhibition contest.
After a brief weather delay, the Utes and Bengals kicked off their 2022 season with a three 30-minute halves exhibition contest.

"It was exciting to see this group play in a game environment for the first time. We are certainly ways away from getting to where we want to be, but it was nice to see so many different options we have, and the team showed a glimpse of what we are capable of, and I am excited for this group moving forward. We will continue to work to get sharper and cleaner on both sides of the ball to get ourselves ready for the season opener against the University of Portland."

Want to see the Utes play this season? Utah will play 12 matches at Ute Field this season. The first chance is Aug. 10 against Idaho State in an exhibition contest. The home opener is set for Sunday, Aug. 21, when they host Colorado State. Aug. 21 is the start of a six-match homestand. For the full schedule, click here.

Utah opens the 2022 regular season on Thursday, Aug. 18, when they travel to Portland, Ore., to face the Pilots of the University of Portland. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. MT from Merlo Field.
