Gerbet Named United Soccer Coaches Player to Watch

Aug 12, 2022

CORVALLIS – Oregon State standout Joran Gerbet has been selected as a United Soccer Coaches Player to Watch, the organization announced Friday.
As a freshman, Gerbet started all 20 matches for the Beavers, clocking 1822 minutes on the pitch. The Valence, France native scored his first collegiate goal in the Beavers' clash with No. 1 Washington on Oct. 22, helping OSU topple the Huskies, 3-2. Gerbet found the net a second time on the road at UCLA (Nov. 7) and tallied two assists on the season.
Gerbet was selected as a United Soccer Coaches All-Region Second Team honoree last season, as well as Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. He was an All-Pac-12 First Team selection, and was chosen as part of Top Drawer Soccer's Freshman Best XI.
Oregon State had the best year in program history last season, winning its first ever Pac-12 title, on its way to the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament and an appearance in the NCAA quarterfinals. The Beavers are ranked No. 5 in the United Soccer Coaches Poll heading into the 2022 campaign, and will host Corban in Exhibition action Friday afternoon at 2 p.m.
