Beavers In Italy: Beavers Notch Second Win In Italy, Explore Colosseum and Forum

ROME, Italy – The Oregon State men's basketball team recorded its second-straight victory in Italy on Tuesday, as the Beavers defeated Stella Azzurra 88-38 in Rome.
Tyler Bilodeau led the Beavers with 19 points on 8-for-9 shooting, to go with seven rebounds. Jayden Stevens was close behind, finishing with 17 points and four boards. Jordan Pope rounded out the three Beavers in double-figures, ending the day with 10 points and two steals.
Chol Marial tallied eight points and seven rebounds, while Dexter Akanno and Dzmitry Ryuny scored nine points apiece.
As a team, Oregon State registered 23 steals, led by Glenn Taylor Jr. and Nick Krass with four apiece. Michael Rataj recorded three steals.

The Beavers exploded out of the gate, holding Stella Azzurra scoreless for over four minutes to start the game on their way to a 22-8 lead at the end of the first quarter. Oregon State continued to control the contest in the second frame, heading to the break in front 44-13.
OSU continued to roll in the second half, heading to the closing quarter up 68-30, on its way to the 50-point win. The Beavers will play one more game in Italy, Thursday when they face Latina.
The Beavers started off the day by touring some of the historic sites of Rome, namely the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. Oregon State will spend the next two days in Rome, culminating in Thursday's third and final game of the Italy tour.

The Beavers are scheduled to play three games during the trip (there is a nine-hour time difference from Corvallis to Italy):

  • Aug. 20 – Oregon State 72, Streetball Livorno 59
  • Aug. 23 – Oregon State 88, Stella Azzurra 38
  • Aug. 25 – Oregon State vs. Latina – 9 a.m. PT (6 p.m. CET)

Oregon State welcomes eight newcomers to this year's squad – five freshmen and three transfers. Among the Beavers returning for 2022-23 is Pac-12 All-Freshman selection Glenn Taylor Jr.
