Aug 31, 2022

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Returning home after a two-game trip, the Oregon State women's soccer team will open September and begin winding down the nonconference portion of the 2022 season. On the heels of another unbeaten weekend, the Beavers (2-0-2) will face Boise State at home on Thursday evening before visiting UC Davis on Sunday morning.

Oregon State used two first half goals to defeat Fresno State on Thursday night before battling Pacific to a 1-1 deadlock on Sunday afternoon after Skylar Herrera's tying score in the 57th minute.
Offensively, the Beavers are led by McKenna Martinez, who has tallied three goals and an assist in the four games played. Amber Jackson has accumulated a pair of assists in addition to her goal scored versus Wyoming. Hailey Coll has been the presence for the Beavers between the posts. The Eugene, Ore., native has stopped 17 shots, including a dozen in the last time out.

Martinez leads the Pac-12 with 17 shots and third with her trio of goals. Amber Jackson paces the conference with her two assists.

Boise State will head to Corvallis with a 1-1-1 mark in the 2022 season. In their last time out, they defeated UC Riverside by a 4-1 margin to cap off a three-match homestand to kick off their campaign. Prior to the win over UC Riverside, they fell 2-1 to Arizona State behind a pair of first half goals by the Sun Devils.
Morgan Stone and Hayden Wilsey lead the Bronco attack with a pair of goals to their credit while Morgan Padour and Grace Sommers follow behind with one apiece. In net, Genevieve Crenshaw has made 10 saves through 270 minutes for Boise State.

Oregon State took a 2-1 win over the Broncos in September 2016 at Paul Lorenz Field. A pair of first half goals – scored by Helene Haavik and Natalie Higgins – lifted the Beavers to the nonconference win.

Prior to Thursday's match against Sacramento State, the Aggies are .500 through their first four. Following two wins – including a 1-0 triumph over fifth-ranked Santa Clara – the Aggies have dropped their last two.

A trio – Molly Branigan, Leslie Fregoso and Risa Yamada – share the scoring lead for the Aggies with a score apiece. Branigan and Fregoso also have tallied an assist each.  Caeley Goldstein has made 18 saves in 360 minutes in goal through four games played.

The Beavers used goals in the 30th, 49th and 83rd minutes to put away the visiting Aggies at Paul Lorenz Field in September 2019. Oregon State fired off 22 shots to just 12 for UC Davis, including 14 on frame. Bridgette Skiba needed to stop only a pair of shots to keep a clean sheet against the Aggies.
