Rowing Announces 2022 Fall Schedule
PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State Rowing Head Coach Jane LaRiviere announced WSU's 2022 fall regatta schedule Wednesday, Sept. 7. This year's fall schedule will feature three regattas during the month of October, opening with the Burnaby Small Boat Invitational in Burnaby, British Columbia on Oct. 1.
The Cougars make their return to Burnaby Small Boat Invitational after a two-year hiatus. The last time Wazzu traveled north of the border to compete at Burnaby Lake in Canada came back during the 2019-20 season. That season Washington State had a pair of rowers win the 250-meter sprint to claim the title of Regatta Champion.
Washington State will make its annual autumn trip up U.S. Route 195 on Oct. 15 for the Head of the Spokane. The Cougars will take on Gonzaga in the annual fall regatta which takes place on the Spokane River.
The Cougs close out the fall portion of their 2022-23 schedule on Oct. 29, when WSU travels to Gold River, California for the Head of the American on Lake Natoma. Wazzu will be making its first appearance at the Head of the American regatta since 2019. That year, WSU's varsity four boat claimed first place, while the first varsity eight crew captured second place.
