Oregon State Falls to Fifth-Ranked Cavaliers

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- The Oregon State women's soccer team battled No. 5/2 Virginia in a 5-0 defeat at Klöckner Stadium on Thursday evening.

The No. 5/2 Cavaliers (7-0-0) used three first-half scores to pull away from the Beavers (3-2-1) in the nonconference tilt. Virginia added a pair in the second half. Hailey Coll stopped five shots in net and Mya Sanchez stopped one while Ava Benedetti led the offense with a shot on goal.

With the result, the Beavers have dropped their last two after going unbeaten in their first five.

Oregon State will stay in the Commonwealth of Virginia to take on James Madison on Sunday. Kickoff from Harrisonburg between the Beavers and Dukes is set for 9 a.m. PT.
