COUGARS VS MUSTANGS
Washington State hosts Cal Poly at Lower Soccer Field, Sunday afternoon, for the 8th all-time meeting between the programs. The Mustangs hold a 4-2-1 record against the Cougars, with WSU winning the last matchup in 2018, 4-1, in Pullman.

HOME SWEET HOME
Lower Soccer Field has become something of a fan-fortress for the Cougs. In 2021, the team drew an average of 1,238 fans per match, the highest season average in program history. This season's home opener against Portland drew the fourth-largest crowd in program history with 2,408 fans in attendance. Wazzu is averaging 1,605 fans per game through three matches this season.

CAREER COUG MYKIAA MINNISS
With her 78th career start Sunday against Denver, fifth-year senior Mykiaa Minniss moved into a tie for 6th all-time in WSU career matches started, excluding goalkeepers. Minniss has started every single match of her Cougar career. If Minniss starts all the regular-season matches this year, she would finish as WSU's all-time career starts leader with 92, besting former teammate Sydney Pulver, who finished her career with 91 starts in Crimson & Gray.

MINNISS ASSIST STREAK CONTINUES
Mykiaa Minniss tallied an assist in the Cougars' win over Denver, marking three straight matches with an assist. She is the 11th Coug all-time with a 3-game assist streak, and the first since teammate Sydney Studer notched three-consecutive assists last season. If Minniss were to earn an assist Sunday versus Cal Poly, she would become just the second player in program history with 4-game assist streak, tying Beth Childs (2001) for the longest streak in WSU history.

COOPER CLOSING ON WSU RECORD BOOK
Sophomore goalkeeper Nadia Cooper is no stranger to re-writing the WSU record book, this season setting her sights on the career goalkeeping lists. With the Cougs' win against Denver, Cooper moved into sole possession of 9th all-time in career wins (13). Picking up her first cleansheet of the season in the home opener against Portland, Cooper earned her eighth-career shutout and pushed herself onto the WSU all-time goalkeeper shutout list (tied 10th).

SHULENBERGER APPROACHES HISTORIC RECORD
In his eighth season, Shulenberger enters this week with 84 career wins, four shy of the all-time wins record held by former coach Matt Potter. Currently, Shulenberger could tie the record as early as WSU's match at Oregon State and break the record with an 89th win in Pullman against Colorado. Shulenberger also holds the second-best win percentage in program history. In his career, he has a .643 win percentage.

DETRIZIO DOUBLE TROUBLE
Junior Margie Detrizio picked up the second multiple-goal match of her career with a second-half brace against Eastern Washington, Sunday, Aug. 28. Detrizio has scored four goals this season to lead WSU, bringing her career total to 11 goals. Detrizio is currently tied for 5th in the Pac-12 in goals scored and tied for 29th in the country. The junior forward is also tied for 11th nationally and 3rd in the Pac-12 in shots per game (4.60).

STUDER'S LAST-MINUTE STUNNER
Junior Jenna Studer scored the first goal of her Cougar career Sunday, Sept. 1 at Seattle, netting the game-winning goal with 47 seconds left in the game. It was Studer's second-career collegiate goal and the first game-winner of her career.

LYNCH BACK WITH A BANG
Senior forward Grayson Lynch hopes to continue a strong run of form from the 2021 season. She notched her second goal of the 2022 campaign, Sunday versus Denver, scoring a golazo from the outside of the penalty area. Last season, Lynch returned from hip surgery to finish second on the team with a career-best 8 goals on the year, while also adding a pair of assists.

PRESEASON PRAISE
The Cougs picked up some of their highest preseason honors in program history. WSU was selected No. 19 in the TopDrawerSoccer preseason poll, matching the highest preseason ranking in team history. Wazzu was also voted No. 20 in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll, tying its best-ever preseason selection in a national coaches poll.

SISTER DUOS POWERING NCAA SOCCER
When junior Jenna Studer transferred to Pullman, she joined her sister and fifth-year senior Sydney on the Cougar roster. The duo are one of 50 sets of sisters playing on the same team in Division-I soccer this season. The Cougs also have junior Marin Whieldon with older sister Shayna serving as the team's coordinator of operations. Wazzu is one of just 10 programs in the country with two sister pairings and the only with a staff-athlete combination.
