Unbeaten Huskies To Host Air Force On Sunday

Sep 9, 2022

SEATTLE The 3/2 UW men's soccer team will play host to Air Force on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 3 p.m. at Husky Soccer Stadium. The game will air on Pac-12 Network and Washington.
The Huskies have yet to lose this season as they sit at the top of the Pac-12 with Stanford. Both teams are 4-0-0. Washington remains ranked in the Top 10 for the 33rd straight week, the longest streak in the country.
The Falcons are coming off a 1-3 loss to Central Arkansas on Sept. 5.
The Huskies lead the all-time series 8-1-0. UW is on an eight game winning streak during the series with the lone loss coming in an 0-1 defeat in 1992.
After recording his first career hat trick in a 4-1 win over Utah Valley on Sept. 2, sophomore forward Ilijah Paul was named the TopDrawerSoccer National Player of the Week (Sept. 6) and United Soccer Coaches National Player of the Week (Sept. 7). Paul was also named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week (Sept. 5) and was selected as Pac-12 Player of the Week.
Paul now has a team-high nine points on the season after a career week. He's now ranked in the Top 10 nationally in total goals (4, 1st in the Pac-12), goals per game (1.00) and total points (9).
Omar Grey leads the league in assists (4) and Chris Meyers is second with three. Sam Fowler is ranked fifth in the Pac-12 in saves (6) and posted a .750 save percentage (3rd in Pac-12).
The second half has been a game changer for the Huskies so far this season, with 10 of their 12 total goals coming in the last 45 minutes of action. Washington has limited other teams to just two total goals in four games.
Head coach Jamie Clark earned his 150th win in the purple and gold following UW's 3-0 victory over South Florida on Tuesday, Sept. 6. He is second in program history in wins at Washington.

Clark is sixth amongst active head coaches in career winning percentage (.717) and only one of two Pac-12 coaches in the current Top 7, joining Jeremy Gunn from Stanford (.722).
UW stays home for the next two contests on Sept. 16 vs. Michigan State and Sept. 20 vs. Seattle U. Single game tickets are available by clicking here.
