Set One: Baylor 25, ASU 16
A run of four, attributed to three-straight attacking errors by the Bears, gave the Sun Devils the early lead, with two more Baylor errors giving ASU a 7-5 lead. Even at 11, the Bears made a jump, notching the next six points. Cyr's kill put the set within four, but Baylor would go on a 6-1 run to close out the set.
Set Two: Baylor 25, ASU 23
The Sun Devils took the early 3-0 lead to open the second set. From there it was back and forth with six ties before the Bears pulled away with a 6-1 run to make it 14-10. A timeout ordered by ASU helped, as Cyr and Leah Miller returned with a kill each to help get within two at 18-16. The Sun Devils continued to threaten, splitting the final 14 points, evenly with the Bears, but the Bears saw the set through.
Set Three: Baylor 25, ASU 17
Falling behind 7-1, the Sun Devils took an early timeout. ASU's main push came on a 4-0 run with Cyr serving to make it a 9-7 deficit. The Sun Devils took their second timeout after Baylor's 4-0 run, in which Marta Levinska answered with a kill to trail 13-8. ASU was unable to spark a run down the stretch and Baylor would take the final set off of two kills.
The final non-conference tournament is next weekend as Arizona State returns to Texas to compete in the Red Raider Classic at Texas Tech from September 16-17.
