Two Ducks Sit in the Top 10 at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Greyson Leach and Owen Avrit shot rounds of 65 to lead Oregon Saturday at the Maui Jim Intercollegiate.
Avrit followed Friday's 63 with a 5-under tally Saturday and was second overall at 12-under. He enters Sunday's final round one shot back of 36-hole leader Caleb Surratt of Tennessee (13-under).
Oregon was tied for fifth with San Diego State at 22-under. No. 13 Auburn led at 34-under, followed by No. 5 Arizona State (32-under), No. 18 Florida State (29-under) and No. 12 Tennessee (27-under).
How It Happened: Leach tied his career low with six birdies and one bogey. He had four straight birdies on holes 14 through 17. Leach was tied for seventh at 9-under 131.
Avrit's 65 included five birdies and 13 pars he had three birdies on his last eight holes to get to 12-under 138 for the tournament.
The Ducks also counted even-par 70s from Nate Stember and Gabriel Hari. Stember's round featured an eagle on the par-5 second hole.

Notable: Avrit has just one bogey in 36 holes at Mirabel compared to 13 birdies and 22 pars.
