Szulczewski Earns Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week

Sep 12, 2022

CORVALLIS – After recording Oregon State's first triple-double in five years, Izzi Szulczewski earned Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Szulczewski racked up 22 digs to go with 12 assists and 11 kills for the triple-double and averaged 6.13 digs per set over the weekend, 1.13 more than any other Pac-12 player. She played both setter and outside hitter for the Beavs, competing in all six rotations and totaling double-digit digs in all three matches.

If her efforts in the back row weren't enough, Szulczewski also had 0.75 blocks per set on the weekend. She rejected six attacks and was a key part of Oregon State's season-best 17 blocks in the four-set win over North Texas.

The Beavers close out the non-conference slate this weekend in New Orleans at the Green Wave Invitational.
