Sep 12, 2022

LOS ANGELES — USC sophomore quarterback Caleb Williams was named the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week and junior defensive lineman Tuli Tuipulotu earned the Pac-12 Defensive Lineman of the Week for their performances in USC's 41-28 victory at Stanford.

Williams was also named the CFPA National Performer of the Week and selected to the Davey O'Brien Great 8 List.

Additionally, junior wide receiver Jordan Addison was named the Washington Metro College Player of the Week by the DC Touchdown Club.

Williams went 20-of-27 (.741) for 341 yards and six TDs to lead No. 10 USC to victory over conference-rival Stanford. This was the Trojans' first win over the Cardinal in Stanford Stadium since 2014. USC's 41 points are the most points scored versus Stanford since USC scored 45 points in its victory over the Cardinal in 2019 in the Coliseum. Williams now ranks second nationally in completion percentage (.796 and first in the Pac-12 Conference) and passing efficiency (221.1 and first in the Pac-12 Conference). He is also third nationally in yards per attempt (12.04 and first in the Pac-12 Conference). With Williams at the helm, the Trojans had 505 yards in total offense against the Cardinal. Through two games, Williams is 45-of 57 (.789) for 671 yards and six TDs with zero INTs.

Tuipulotu was a force to be reckoned with on the Trojan defensive line. He recorded six tackles, including four for loss for 19 yards (with one sack for 11 yards). At the beginning of the third quarter, Tuipulotu broke up a pass from Stanford QB Tanner McKee intended for WR Michael Wilson. In the same quarter, he also forced a fumble by Stanford RB E.J. Smith which was recovered by fellow Trojan teammate DB Jacobe Covington for a turnover.

Addison had a team-high 172 yards on seven receptions and scored two TDs. Through two games, he has tallied 226 yards on 12 receptions with four TDs.
