LOS ANGELES – The UCLA softball team has finalized its fall ball preseason schedule, the program announced Monday morning. The Bruins will play a total of eight games, including five home contests at Easton Stadium with free admission to all spectators.
UCLA, who finished in the Women's College World Series semifinals last season, opens its fall schedule with a double-header against Loyola Marymount and UC San Diego on Oct. 15 at 10 a.m. PT and 12 p.m., respectively.
This will be Bruin fans' first opportunity to see UCLA's revamped roster featuring 11 new members in action. Among UCLA's four additions through the transfer portal are All-American catcher Sharlize Palacios and 2021 Pac-12 Batting Champion Janelle Meoño from Arizona as well as left-handed pitcher Brooke Yanez and infielder Rachel Cid from Oregon.
UCLA's 2022-23 incoming class of freshmen include Taylor Tinsley, Megan Grant, Jordan Woolery, Ramsey Suarez, Kennedy Powell, Alexis Ramirez and Rylee Pinedo.
Among the Bruins' star returners are 2022 Pac-12 Pitcher of the Year Megan Faraimo, 2022 All-WCWS Team selection Maya Brady, Pac-12 All-Freshman Team honoree Savannah Pola and two-time NFCA First Team All-American Aaliyah Jordan.
