"Day one was good, as we had a great fall with the team, and we have progressed a little faster than normal," remarked head coach Lynne Roberts. "We added some new pieces to the team and are ahead of schedule in many areas. I love how hard this team works; they are fun to be around and coach. Day one is always fun and exciting."

The Utes welcome in transfer Alissa Pili to the mix. Pili, who transferred from Southern California, is in her first year as a Ute. In three seasons with Southern California, Pili appeared in 63 games and was named the Pac-12 Freshman of the Year following the 2019-20 season.

Freshmen Lani White, Naya Ojukwu, and Teya Sidberry join the Utes this season. White joins the Utes from Irvine, Calif., and was a member of the Mater Dei HS women's basketball team. She was named the 2020-21 Idaho Gatorade Player of the year and 2020-21 MaxPreps Idaho Player of the Year.
