Azuolas Tubelis Takes Dunk Contest, Blue Team Wins
TUCSON, Ariz. – Arizona basketball's 2022-23 season unofficially began on Friday night in front of a sold out crowd at McKale Center for the annual intrasquad Red Blue game.
After Arizona's Adaptative Athletics wheelchair basketball game, the Wildcats competed in a dunk contest that came down to Azuolas Tubelis and Kerr Kriisa with a lift-assist by Pelle Larsson. With a fan vote, Tubelis took the victory. The contest was judged by Aari McDonald, Frank Caliendo, Mark Wystrach, A.J. Bramlett, Lauri Markkanen, Rawle Alkins, Jason Terry and Deandre Ayton.

The Blue team came away with a tight win, 49-45, with freshman Henri Veesaar leading both teams in scoring with 10 points.
Next up, Arizona will play a pair of exhibitions at home before the start of the regular season with the first one against Western Oregon on Tuesday, Nov. 1, time to be announced.
