Sophomore Safety Cole Bishop
How is the game coming and progressing for you?
"I just have more experience. Coming into the season I felt good as I got a lot of playing time towards the end of last season and even practice reps are helping out. Getting more and more game reps to build my confidence."

Senior Wide Receiver Jaylen Dixon
On having his number called in Week 5 vs. Oregon State…
"It felt fun, just being able to go out there and work with the plays that Coach got me in on, and doing the most with my chances. That's been the biggest thing, not knowing how many chances I will get, but being able to do the most with those chances."

On what his growth as a player can be attributed to…
"It may sound cliché, but just having fun with the game. You come out here, and you see yourself making certain plays. You visualize it, you make the play and it brings more confidence to you. It's been great."

On the energy around the team when Dixon finds the end zone…
"It's fun. It hits for the whole team. You see somebody score, you just want to be so hype for them, and go crazy for them. It's just how it works here, no matter who scores. We were just throwing a party. It's fun."

On his versatility being able to run the ball as well as catch…
"Just like I said, being able to show what I can do is always fun. Whether it's a run, pass, whatever it is—want to be able to show what I can do."

How would you describe yourself as a player?
"Just like to have fun. No matter what the play is, no matter what's going on, just want to go out there and have fun. It's really hard to do sometimes if stuff's going bad, you may have [made] mistakes. But you just go out there and try to have as much fun as possible. That's what I've been trying to do."

Junior Quarterback Cameron Rising
On assessing the first game in Brant Kuithe's absence…
"It was definitely different. Not having '80' there is always going to have a different feel. But the guys did a good job and answered. It was great for the whole team."

On the team's performance overall entering Week 6…
"We've done good. We dropped one, so that's not something that you ever want to have. But you just have to keep the ball rolling and keep getting better. That's the main goal, really."

On what defines leadership on the field…
"Someone that handles their 20 square feet and really just making sure they're doing everything they need to. That's pretty much the only think I like to focus on. Being there for the guys, that's another thing. Those are most important for a leader."

On returning to play at the Rose Bowl…
"It'll be fun. It's a good spot to play. Just looking forward to getting back down there to Pasadena and having some fun."

Sophomore Cornerback Zemaiah Vaughn
On his increasing role with the team this season…
"I am pretty comfortable with my role this season. At the start, I had questions about my technique and coverage but I feel I am getting more comfortable with it as the season goes on."

On having quality corners around him and helping him…
"Just watching them [Clark Phillips III and JaTravis Broughton] makes me want to push myself more. Last year, I played a lot and they are pushing me to get back on the field. With them out there it makes me want to push myself and to be better."
