2022-23 Schedule Revealed
STANFORD, Calif. - Rob Koll, The Matt Gentry Head Wrestling Coach now in his second season on The Farm, has announced Stanford's 2022-23 schedule.
The Cardinal will wrestle in 14 duals and compete in some of the nation's most competitive collegiate tournaments. Stanford opens the season on Nov. 6 at the Menlo Open in Atherton.
Stanford's home opener is set for Saturday, Nov. 19 against Rutgers. The Cardinal will also host No. 15 Virginia Tech and Lindenwood on Dec. 18.
Stanford will make appearances at the Mountaineer Invitational (Nov. 12), the Roadrunner Open (Nov. 20) and the Southern Scuffle (Jan. 1-2).
The Cardinal boasts a heavy home schedule in January, playing host to California Baptist and North Dakota State on Jan. 12 and No. 19 Penn on Jan. 15. Stanford hosts No. 3 Arizona State on Jan. 22 for its Pac-12 opener. The Cardinal's remaining four conference duals will take place on the road.
Stanford will host the 2023 Pac-12 Championships in Maples Pavilion on Sunday, March 5. The NCAA Championships will be held March 16-18 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Stanford returns five NCAA qualifiers, including 2021 NCAA champion Shane Griffith and All-American Jaden Abas (2021). The Cardinal enters the 2022-23 campaign ranked No. 21 in the InterMat Preseason Tournament Rankings.
