Cross country racing in Stillwater ahead of Pac-12 Championships

PULLMAN, Wash. -- Washington State men's and women's cross country teams travel to Oklahoma this week for the 2022 Weis-Crockett Invitational on Saturday, October 15, at the OSU Cross Country Course in Stillwater, Okla.  The OSU Cross Country Course will be the host site of next month's NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships.
The men's 8k race is scheduled for Friday morning at 7:30 a.m. PST and the women's 6k race is set to begin at 8:20 a.m PST.
Junior Cooper Cortinas (26:27) and sophomore Isaiah Lowery (26:49) represented Washington State men's cross country at the Inland Empire Challenge on Saturday at the LCSC Cross Country Course.  Cortinas took 42nd overall in the men's 8k race at a 5:20 pace.  Lowery claimed 49th in the men's 8k while running a 5:24 pace.
Former Cougar, Erin Mullins represented the Cougars in the 2020 NCAA Cross Country Championships. Mullins placed 123rd overall with a time of 21:41.5 in the 6k race.
The women's and men's teams have remained steady in the rankings. The women are still sitting 11th in this week's West Region rankings.  Washington State's men stayed at No. 12.
Brian Barsaiya, (No. 55) Alaina Stone Boggs, (No. 67) and Caroline Jerotich (No. 73) each remain in the top-100 of the FloTrack NCAA Division I individual cross country rankings. the women's team remains in the NCAA top-25 at No. 24 in FloTrack team rankings (Oct. 5).
This weekend's hosts, Oklahoma State, feature a pair of top-five programs with the No. 3 women's programs and the No. 4 men's team heading into the weekend. The 2022 Weiss-Crockett Invitational will also welcome the 19th-ranked Cal Baptist women's program and the 29th-ranked CBU men's team. Arkansas's 29th-ranked men's team will also headline the field in Saturday's 8k race.
