Beavs Close Road Swing At UCLA and USC

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Beaver volleyball team concludes a four-game stretch on the road with the Los Angeles swing against UCLA and USC. First serve on Friday is set for 7 p.m. against the Bruins, while Sunday's match against the Trojans is set for noon.

Transfer Inna Balyko is closing in on 4,000 career assists as she currently sits at 3,914. She's finished with 50 or more assists six different times in her career, including twice this season with an OSU-high of 53 in the match
against Cal. Balyko would join just 15 other active D1 athletes with over 4,000 helpers in their careers. The setter has a long resume that includes 3,432 assists (8.84 per set) over three years at Rutgers. Balyko was twice named
the Big Ten Setter of the Week during the 2020-21 spring season and is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection (2019, 2020).

Mychael Vernon has led the Beavs in kills in 11 of her 15 matches played so far this season. Vernon led OSU in kills in both matches last weekend. She leads the Beavs with 185 kills on the season and has posted double-digit kills
in 13 of her 15 matches played.

A two-year starter at Oregon State, Izzi Szulczewski recorded Oregon State's first triple-double in five years against Portland, and is one of just two PAC-12 athletes with a triple-double this season. She is the only PAC-12 athlete with multiple triple-doubles this season and one of just 10 in the country.
The Beavers have yet to be beaten this season through 16 matches when collecting more service aces than their opponents, compiling a 4-0 record to this point. OSU is averaging 6.25 aces per match in the four wins, compared
to just 3.25 aces per match in the other 12 matches, where the Beavs hold a 2-10 record.

Freshman Kinley Swan has made just two error to go along with 36 kills on 73 attempts to start PAC-12 play. Swan is second in the conference with a .466 hitting percentage through the first six matches of league play.
