Washington Wraps Up Nonconference Slate Against Gonzaga

SEATTLE – No. 1 Washington closes out the nonconference schedule on Friday afternoon when the Huskies welcome Gonzaga. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at Husky Soccer Stadium and airing on Pac-12 Network.
 
UW-GONZAGAHISTORY
The match marks the 36th all-time meeting between the two programs. Washington is 33-1-1 all-time against Gonzaga in a series that dates back to 1981. The Huskies are on a 13 match winning streak and have not allowed a Bulldog goal since Oct. 21, 2016.
 
HUSKIES IN THE PAC-12 RANKINGS
Washington leads the conference in 10 different categories. Lucas Meek and Chris Meyers leads in assists per game (0.58) and total assists (7). Meek is also the Pac-12 leader in game winning goals (3), goals per game (0.75), points per game (2.08), total points (25) and total goals (9).
 
Ilijah Paul is the conference leader in shot accuracy at 0.654.
 
NATIONAL LEADER
As a team, Washington leads the nation in goal differential (27) and win-loss-tie percentage (0.958). Individually, Lucas Meek leads with 25 total points.
 
GONZAGA SCOUTING REPORT
Gonzaga sits at 4-7-1 on the season with a 0-1-1 mark in the West Coast Conference.
 
Demitrius Kigeya leads the team with three goals and six assists on the season for 12 points. In total, the Bulldogs have 15 goals on the season. Johan Garlbay holds a 1.40 goals against average with 48 saves.
 
HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE
Since 1997, the Huskies have posted a 175-60-19 overall record at Husky Soccer Stadium, winning at least eight matches in 13 seasons including a 10-1-2 mark in 2013.
 
Earlier this season, the Huskies set a new program record for single-game attendance when 3,876 packed Husky Soccer Stadium to watch Washington take on Seattle U on Sept. 21.
 
INDIVIDUAL RECOGNITION
Lucas Meek earned his second career Pac-12 Player of the Week honor following a stellar weekend against then-No. 5 Stanford and California. Over the two matches, Meek had two goals and two assists. He was also named College Soccer News National Player of the Week.
 
UP NEXT
The Huskies are on the road for the next three matches starting at Oregon State on Friday, Oct. 21. Washington will return home on Nov. 3 for the final three matches of the season against UCLA (Nov. 3), San Diego State (Nov. 6) and Oregon State (Nov. 10).
