2023 Gym Devils Schedule Released

Oct 14, 2022

TEMPE, Ariz. – The 2023 Sun Devil Gymnastics schedule has been announced, which includes five home meets at Desert Financial Arena, seven head-to-head matchups against teams that finished in the top 25 in 2022 and the 2022 national champions.

The Gym Devils are looking forward to another opportunity to push the program to new heights. In 2022, ASU earned a share of the Pac-12 regular season title with Cal, Oregon State and Utah for the first time in program history. With a 6-4 record, the Sun Devils wrapped up the season ranked No. 22 on Road to Nationals. The team finished the season with an NQS of 196.905 and qualified to compete in the night session of the Pac-12 Championships for the second year in a row.

The season will begin with a meet on the weekend of January 6-8, which is not yet announced. After that, the next two meets will be back home at Desert Financial Arena, first a tri-meet against UC Davis and Eastern Michigan on January 13. The following week will be the return of the Beauty and the Beast meet against Stanford, a shared home event with Sun Devil Wrestling.

Pac-12 play will begin at home against in-state rival Arizona on January 28. ASU has not lost to Arizona since 2016, with five of the last six head-to-head matchups seeing a close margin of victory of .700 or less.

Following three weeks in a row at home, the Gym Devils will hit the road to take on the Cal Bears in Berkeley on February 4. ASU and Cal have alternated on the winner since 2017, with the Sun Devils winning last year to stop the Bears' undefeated season. The next meet is also on the road, as Arizona State travels to UCLA on February 11. In 2022, the Gym Devils beat the Bruins for the first time since 2001.

On February 20, Arizona State will host Utah, a team that finished No. 3 in the nation last season after a run at nationals. The next weekend will see ASU back on the road at Washington on February 26. The Huskies finished one spot ahead of the Sun Devils in the 2022 final rankings at No. 21.

Conference play ends with the Senior Night on March 4 against Oregon State. ASU will look to send off the seniors in style against another top-25 team. The regular season competition will conclude on March 12 at Oklahoma, the 2022 national champions.

The postseason begins with the 2023 Pac-12 Championships on March 18.
