RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The University of Arizona Cross Country men and women both finished fourth overall at the UCR Highlander Invitational this Saturday.
"We had a great race here at the UCR Highlander Invite," said Head Coach Bernard Lagat. "The teams did amazing; both the men and women finished strong. Number four with the men and then we also finished fourth place for the women's team. We wanted to come here and feel the course because we will be back here for the Pac-12 Championships."
In the men's 8k, Ian Sanchez Lopez again led the way for the team while also finishing second overall with a PR time of 23:45.0. "The team is looking good, and we think what we have learned in this course, its ups and downs, is what we wanted to come and experience and then apply to the race in two weeks at the Pac-12's," added Coach Lagat. "We're excited and thank you for the support that all of you at home are giving us."
