CLOSING IN ON 4K
Transfer Inna Balyko is closing in on 4,000 career assists as she currently sits at 3,970. She's finished with 50 or more assists six different times in her career, including twice this season with an OSU-high of 53 in the match against Cal. Balyko would join just 15 other active D1 athletes with over 4,000 helpers in their careers. The setter has a long resume that includes 3,432 assists (8.84 per set) over three years at Rutgers. Balyko was twice named the Big Ten Setter of the Week during the 2020-21 spring season and is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten selection (2019, 2020).
Mychael Vernon has finished in double figures for kills in 14 of her 17 matches played so far this season. Of the 17 matches, Vernon has been the top attacker for the Beavs, including the most recent match against USC. She leads the Beavs with 206 kills on the season.
IZZI, IZZI, IZZI
A two-year starter at Oregon State, Izzi Szulczewski recorded Oregon State's first triple-double in five years against Portland, and is one of just two PAC-12 athletes with a triple-double this season. She is the only PAC-12 athlete with multiple triple-doubles this season and one of just 12 in the country.
NEEDING POCKET ACES
The Beavers have yet to be beaten this season through 18 matches when collecting more service aces than their opponents, compiling a 4-0 record to this point. OSU is averaging 6.25 aces per match in the four wins, compared to just 3.21 aces per match in the other 14 matches, where the Beavs hold a 2-12 record.
Freshman Kinley Swan has made just seven error to go along with 45 kills on 92 attempts at the halfway point of PAC-12 play. Swan is tied for second in the conference with a .413 hitting percentage through the first eight matches of league play.
