SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Women's tennis team is headed south to participate at the Texas A&M Fall Invitational on Oct 21-23. The tournament will be held in College Station, Texas, at the Mitchell Tennis Center.
Utah is coming off a solid weekend at the ITA Mountain Regional Championships. Madison Tattini teamed up with Anastasia Goncharova in doubles. Together, they were able to make it to the Semifinals before losing to the BYU team of Yujia Huang/Emilee Astle.
Kaila Barksdale also made it to the Semifinals in the Main singles draw. She went head-to-head with top-seeded Molly Helgesson of UNLV and narrowly lost in a tough match. Marcela Lopez won her last match of the tournament in the consolation draw against Zara Lennon from CSU.
This weekend, Utah will send six players, Madison Tattini, Marcela Lopez, Samantha Horwood, Katya Hersh, Anastasia Goncharova, and Kaila Barksdale, to the Texas A&M Invitational. The Utes will participate in both singles and doubles. This is Texas A&M's third consecutive year of holding this tournament.
