SAN FRANCISCO – UCLA seniors Tyger Campbell and Jaime Jaquez Jr. have been selected as preseason first-team All-Pac-12 selections, as voted by media members.

In addition, junior Jaylen Clark and freshman Amari Bailey have been listed as honorable mention preseason all-league selections (earning at least eight votes from the voting media contingent).

The Pac-12 Conference's preseason selections include 10 players on the first team and five student-athletes listed on the second team.

Both Campbell and Jaquez Jr. earned first-team All-Pac-12 honors at the conclusion of the 2021-22 regular season (and both student-athletes were selected as preseason selections in Oct. 2021). Campbell and Jaquez Jr. were instrumental in leading UCLA's team to a 27-8 overall record and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament's Sweet 16 last season.

Campbell, a 5-foot-11 junior from Cedar Rapids, Iowa, averaged 11.9 points, a team-leading 4.3 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game last season. He enters his fifth season at UCLA this fall – his fourth year on the court (was injured as a freshman in 2018-19). Through the past three seasons, Campbell has averaged 10.2 points and 4.9 assists per game in 96 contests (96 starts).

Jaquez Jr., a 6-foot-7 guard/forward from Camarillo, Calif., averaged 13.9 points and a team-best 5.7 rebounds per game last season. In addition to securing first-team all-league honors, he was among five student-athletes selected to the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team (for the second consecutive year). Jaquez Jr. has averaged 11.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game through 97 career contests (89 starts).

Clark, a 6-foot-5 guard from Riverside, Calif., averaged 6.7 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game last season. He was one of five student-athletes to be named to the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team. Clark finished his sophomore season having shot 50.6 percent from the field.

Bailey, a 6-foot-5 guard who recently excelled at Sierra Canyon School (Chatsworth, Calif.), averaged 18.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists as a high school senior in 2021-22. He helped his high school team to a 26-5 overall record, as Sierra Canyon advanced to the CIF State Open Division regional title contest in March of 2022. He was honored as a McDonald's All-America selection in 2022.

Campbell and Jaquez Jr., along with head coach Mick Cronin, will be representing UCLA's program at Pac-12 Men's Basketball Media Day (more information here) at the Pac-12 Headquarters in San Francisco on Wednesday, Oct. 25.

The Bruins are set to host Concordia University Irvine in a home exhibition game the night of Wednesday, Nov. 2. Game time is 7 p.m. (PT). The exhibition contest will be televised by the Pac-12 Network.

Ranked No. 8 in the preseason Associated Press (AP) poll, UCLA will open the regular-season schedule against Sacramento State on Monday, Nov. 7. Game time in Pauley Pavilion presented by Wescom is 8:30 p.m. (PT).
