Richardson Named to Pac-12 Preseason First Team
SAN FRANCISCO – Senior Will Richardson was named to the Pac-12 preseason all-conference first team today, while Quincy Guerrier and Kel'el Ware earned honorable mention.
It is the third consecutive season that Richardson has been named to the all-conference first team. He started the day earning national recognition as one of 20 point guards named to the Bob Cousy Award watch list.
Last season, Richardson led the team in points and assists per game, tallying 22 double-digit outings, including seven 20-point performances. He hit four or more three pointers in seven games and connected from long distance in all but four games.
Guerrier was the only Ducks player to start all 35 games for Oregon last season. He averaged 10.1 points and 5.3 rebounds in 26.5 minutes per game. Ware enters his freshman season with Oregon as a McDonald's All-American and one of the top recruits in the country, ranking as high as seventh in the nation by 247Sports. He spent the summer as a member of Team USA's U18 team, winning a gold medal at the Americas Championship and earning all-tournament honors.
The Ducks open the season on November 7 against Florida A&M at 7 p.m. in Matthew Knight Arena.
