Bears Host Tigers At Spieker
BERKELEY – The No. 1 ranked California men's swimming & diving team returns to Spieker Aquatics Complex this week when Pacific comes to Berkeley. The Bears and Tigers are slated to begin at 4:00 p.m. PT and will be streamed live on the Cal Live Stream.

LAST TIME IN THE POOL
The Bears handled their business in the first dual meet of the season on Wednesday, October 12, defeating visiting Utah 185-107 at Spieker Aquatics Complex. The Bears won 12 of 14 events with the final two events (100 butterfly and 200 individual medley) being raced as exhibitions. Cal opened the race by sweeping the 200 medley relay, one of two events the Bears swept on the day.
Freshman Matthew Chai had a terrific outing against Utah last time out. Chai took first in the 1000 free, winning with a time of 9:07.33 earning his first collegiate dual meet victory.
IN THE RANKINGS
The Golden Bears are ranked first nationally in the 2022-23 CSCAA preseason poll, which was released on Oct. 17. The Bears' 444 points is 11 ahead of No. 2 Texas. The top-five is Cal, Texas, Florida (412), NC State (392), and Arizona State (379).
AGAINST THE TIGERS
Thursday will be the 82nd time the Bears have battled Pacific in a dual meet. All-time Cal is 75-6 against the Tigers. Last time out, Cal defeated Pacific 187-74 in Stockton on Oct. 3, 2019. In that meet, Reece Whitley won the 100 breaststroke.
