No. 24 USC Women's Volleyball Taps Rockies to Open Back Half of Pac-12 Play

LOS ANGELES – The 24th-ranked USC women's volleyball team (16-5, 8-2 Pac-12) opens the back half of its Pac-12 scheduled with a trip to the Rocky Mountains this weekend (Oct. 28-30). The Women of Troy will face Utah (12-9, 5-5) on Friday (Oct. 28) at Jon M. Huntsman Center in Salt Lake City and then head across the mountain range to take on Colorado (13-7, 5-5) on Sunday (Oct. 30) at the CU Events Center in Boulder, Colo. Despite having a season-long seven-match win streak halted, the Trojans have won 11 of their last 13 and seek to build momentum down the stretch of the conference schedule.

  • USC is led by third-year head coach Brad Keller who has the unique experience of having also served as an assistant coach for the USC men.
  • The Women of Troy began the season ranked 24th in the AVCA's Preseason Coaches Poll (Aug. 15) and returned to that position this week.

S Mia Tuaniga set a new school record with 10 service aces against Colorado (Sept. 30) and recorded only the second rally-scoring era triple-double school history (37 assists, 10 digs, 10 aces). She leads the Pac-12 in aces (42), aces per set (0.54 saps), and is second in assists (11.23 aps).
  • Fr. LIB Gala Trubint ranks fourth in the Pac-12 in digs (3.96 dps) and earned back-to-back Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week awards (Oct. 10, 17).
