SAN FRANCISCO – The first Conference championship of the year is on the horizon, as the 2022 Pac-12 Cross Country Championships are set to air live on Pac-12 Networks on Friday, October 28.

The women’s and men’s championship races will take place at UC Riverside’s Agricultural Operations Course in Riverside, Calif. The women’s 6k kicks things off at 8:30 a.m. PT / 9:30 a.m. MT and the men’s 8k follows at 9:30 a.m. PT / 10:30 a.m. MT. Jim Watson and Tom Feuer will be on both broadcast calls analyzing the live action on Pac-12 Network.

A total of 10 Pac-12 programs boast national rankings ahead of the Pac-12 Meet, led by the top-ranked Stanford men’s squad that features the elite trio of Charles Hicks, Ky Robinson, and Cole Sprout. The Oregon women’s and men’s teams are 12th and 15th, respectively, in the national rankings in the Ducks’ first season under coaches Jerry Schumacher and Shalane Flanagan. Fans will also get their first look at UCLA in the Bruins’ first postseason competition under new distance coach Sean Brosnan, the former two-time national high school coach of the year at Newbury Park High School.

Colorado swept the team titles at the 2021 Conference Meet in Salt Lake City. The CU women were led by individual champion Abby Nichols and placed all five scorers in the top 12, earning 24 points for the victory. 2020 individual champion Eduardo Herrera led Colorado’s men’s squad with a third-place finish en route to 39 points for the scoring five. Hicks was the men’s champion for Stanford in 2021 and is back to defend his title on Friday.
