A Glance at the Bruins
Zoe Antoinette Campos, who owns a 73.3 scoring average in her one stroke play event this season, was ranked as the No. 8 collegiate women's golfer in the country by GolfStat. Ty Akabane and Canales also cracked the top 100 at No. 68 and 81, respectively.
Campos most recently clinched the Bruins' victory in their consolation match play round versus No. 6 Oregon at the East Lake Cup in Atlanta, Ga. last week. Campos sunk a 10-foot putt for birdie on the par-5 18th to take the hole and halve her match, ensuring the UCLA win.
Campos has one top-5 finish this year coming at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational on Oct. 5.
Canales won both of her match play rounds against No. 3 Texas A&M and the Ducks. She trailed the Ducks' Brittany Shin by a stroke for much of the back nine on day three when she won the par-4 17th with a birdie and par-5 18th with a par.
Last Time at Nanea
The Bruins, who competed just last week at the East Lake Cup in Atlanta, Ga., finished fifth out of 12 teams at the 2021 rendition of the Nanea Pac-12 Preview thanks to a runner-up finish by Emma Spitz (-8, 211).
Stanford, USC, Arizona and Oregon all finished ahead of the Bruins last season. The Cardinal were the only team to finish under par at 1-under 875.
