Chayse Gomez Leads Beavers On Day Two In Hawai’i

KAILUA-KONA, Hawai'i – Chayse Gomez carded a 1-under 72 to lead the Oregon State women's golf team in the second round of the Nanea Pac-12 Preview on Tuesday.
 
The great round jumped Gomez 21 spots up the leaderboard and into a tie for 15th place with a 1-over 75-72--147. She has scores of 72 or better in four of her last five rounds after finishing in a tie for seventh place at the Beavers' last event, the Stanford Intercollegiate, with a 4-under 68-72-69--209.
 
The Beavers fell a spot to eighth place at the Pac-12 Preview with a 14-over 291-307--598 at the par-73, 6,449-yard Nanea Golf Club.
 
No. 1 Stanford leads the 12-team field by nine strokes with a 14-under 570.
 
The final round of the three-day, 54-hole tournament begins at 10:30 a.m. PT on Tuesday with a shotgun start. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
 
True freshman Kyra Ly is the second-highest Oregon State golfer on the leaderboard, a tie for 28th place, with a 4-over 73-77--150.
 
Amanda Minni is tied for 35th place with a 7-over 70-83--153. The 3 under in the first round equaled the lowest she's been below par in her Oregon State career.
 
Madde Sund is a stroke back of Minni with an 8-over 78-76--154 and is tied for 40th place. Danique Stokmans is tied for 43rd with a 9-over 73-82--155.
 
Minni leads the Beaver with six birdies through the first two rounds, while Gomez leads the team with 25 pars.
