Huskies Break out Dunk Show in Exhibition Contest
SEATTLE – The Washington Huskies played basketball Tuesday night at Alaska Airlines Arena as Alaska Fairbanks came to town for an exhibition contest. The Huskies improved to 56-11 all-time in exhibition games with a 95-64 win over the Nanooks.
Newcomer Keion Brooks, Jr. scored the first points of the game and the Huskies accelerated out to a 15-2 lead. Brooks had 12 first-half points and finished with a team-high 19 points on 64 percent shooting. The Huskies led 43-27 at the break after four huge slams in a five-minute span. The team finished with 13 dunks but also got it done on the defensive end, recording 17 steals.
Noah Williams recorded a game-high six of those steals. He finished with 12 points while dishing out ten assists in his first game in purple and white.
The crowd erupted for a Kyle Luttinen three in the closing minutes to cap a 58 percent shooting night which included 45 percent shooting from three-point range.
The Huskies open their season Monday, Nov. 7 at home against Weber State.
