No. 17 Wildcats Win Exhibition Over Western Oregon, 91-61

TUCSON, Ariz. - No. 17 Arizona unofficially kicked off the 2022-23 men's basketball season at the McKale Center on Tuesday in an exhibition game against Western Oregon where the Wildcats won by a score of 91-61. 

It was a balanced offensive performance with six Wildcats scoring in double figures, led by returning first team all-conference forward Azuolas Tubelis and his 19 points. Oumar Ballo picked up a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds in addition to two steals and three assists. Sophomore guard Adama Bal made an impact with 15 points and six rebounds while also going 10-11 from the free throw line. Pelle Larsson, Courtney Ramey and Cedric Henderson Jr. also scored in double figures.

The Cats capitalized well off of their defense, forcing 24 turnovers that led to 31 points. They also dominated on the glass, finishing with a 52-32 advantage.

Arizona connected on it's first eight shots of the game to take the early lead and never looked back, leading by as many as 31 late in the second half. The Wildcats shot 48.5% from the floor while holding Western Oregon to 38.3%.
