Sun Devils in the NHL: Joey Daccord earns first win with the Seattle Kraken

TEMPE, Ariz. –  Former Sun Devil Joey Daccord was the goaltender for ASU Hockey for three seasons and helped lead the Sun Devils to their first postseason appearance in 2019. He was credited with his first win of the season as the Seattle Kraken goaltender with a win in a 5-4 victory over the Calgary Flames where he made 36 saves.
It was his first win since March 14, 2021 in a 4-3 victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs where the former Sun Devil made 33 saves. Daccord has appeared in eight games for his career with the previous seven games starting for Ottawa.
Daccord in his career at ASU became the first Arizona State player to sign an NHL entry-level contract. He was the first Sun Devil to be named a Mike Richter finalist in the 2018-19 season for best goaltender in collegiate hockey. The Massachusetts native registered six shutouts his senior year and had a record of 21-13, a .926 save percentage and finished second in minutes played as the Sun Devil goaltender.
