Two Former Buffs Meet in #NFLBuffs Week 8

BOULDER- Week eight of the NFL season saw three former Buffs playing against each other, as Laviska Shenault and the Panthers took on Isaiah Oliver, Nate Landman and the Falcons. Shenault tallied five catches for 26 yards, while Oliver had three tackles and a pass breakup in the endzone. The Falcons would narrowly beat the Panthers in a 37-34 thriller.
Here is what Happened with all other Buffs across the NFL:

  • Chidobe Awuzie: Made the start against the Cleveland Browns this week and had two unassisted tackles in 27 defensive snaps as the Bengals fell 13-32 against the Browns.
  • David Bakhtiari: Made his sixth start of the season for the Packers and played in all 66 of Green Bay's offensive snaps, though his team fell 17-27 to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night.
  • Mason Crosby: Went one for two on field goals against the Bills on Sunday night, missing a 55-yard attempt, and making a 38-yard attempt. He also made both of his extra point attempts, making him a perfect 17-17 on the season on PAT's.
  • Nate Landman: Did not make an appearance against the Carolina Panthers.
  • Isaiah Oliver: Played in 42 Defensive snaps against the Panthers, added three unassisted tackles and four total tackles, as well as a pass breakup as the Falcons would go on to beat the Panthers 37-34.
  • Laviska Shenault: Returned from injury against the Falcons, and played in 23 snaps offensively. Had five catches for 26 yards as the Panthers narrowly lost to fellow Buff Isaiah Oliver and the Falcons.
  • Ahkello Witherspoon: Made his return after five weeks of injury as the Steelers took on the Eagles in Philadelphia. Witherspoon had five unassisted tackles in his return, as the Steelers would lose to the eagles 13-35.

Josh Tupou (Bengals) Did not play in week eight due to injury.
Arlington Hambright (Colts), Phillip Lindsay (Colts), Will Sherman (Broncos), Davion Taylor (Eagles), and Juwann Winfree (Packers) are all on their team's practice squads.
