No. 1 Bears Roll Past No. 14 SJSU

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The No. 1 California men's water polo team continued its winning ways, defeating No. 14 San Jose State, 17-4, Sunday afternoon at SRAC Pool.

Cal got off to a strong start, holding the Spartans scoreless for the first nine minutes and building an early 7-0 lead. 

12 players scored for the Bears in the effort, making it the eighth time this season that at least 10 players have scored in a game. Sophomore attacker Jake Howerton led the squad with three goals. Albert Ponferrada scored twice and added three assists for five points.

Junior goalkeeper Adrian Weinberg finished with 15 saves and an assist.

The Bears close out the regular season next week, visiting No. 4 Stanford for the annual Big Splash.
