USC’s Tuli Tuipulotu Earns Third Pac-12 Defensive Lineman of the Week Award
LOS ANGELES--USC junior defensive lineman Tuli Tuipulotu was named the Pac-12 Defensive Lineman of the Week for his performance in USC's 41-35 victory over California. This is the third time he's earned this honor in the 2022 season.
He recorded 4 tackles, with 2.5 for loss of 11 yards and 2 sacks for 10 yards on Saturday, Nov. 5 in the Coliseum.
Tuipulotu now leads the nation in sacks with 9.0 on the season (1.00 per game). He is also currently No. 4 in the nation in tackles for loss with 1.7 per game, and leads the Pac-12 Conference in the stat.
On the season, he's recorded 29 tackles, with 15 for loss and 9 sacks. He's also tallied 2 pass breakups, 2 quarterback hurries and 1 forced fumble.
Tuipulotu is a quarterfinalist for the Lott IMPACT Trophy and a semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award and the Rotary Lombardi Award. Initially named a preseason All-American, he has now earned placement on six Midseason All-American First Teams (AP, ESPN, Athlon, CBS Sports, The Athletic and FOX Sports). He is also on the watch lists for Nagurski Award, Outland Trophy and Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Award.
In addition to these three Pac-12 honors, he also won Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week earlier this year.
